Synopsis: Yuko Kawai works at an advertising agency in Tokyo. She has no boyfriend, no savings, and little chance of promotion—an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. Though she feels a quiet anxiety about her stagnant future, she continues her daily life while secretly dreaming of marrying a wealthy, handsome man—a so-called “Cinderella marriage.”

One day, just before her 28th birthday, Yuko meets a fortune teller who tells her, “Tonight, your destiny will change dramatically depending on whether you say yes or no to the first person you meet.” Soon after, a mysterious man in a black cloak approaches her. “If you sell me your shadow, I will grant you anything you desire for one year.” Without thinking too deeply, Yuko agrees—and sells her shadow. From that moment on, a series of strange and miraculous strokes of luck begin to come her way.

As her life transforms before her eyes, she is swept up in the allure of everything she ever dreamed of… But will it truly bring her happiness?
