SOLITARY By Sasha Krane
SOLITARY is a compelling drama about a fractured family, a terrible mistake and a shocking confession. When party-girl Nora is forced to move back home with her aging father, it seems life can’t get any worse. But inside her childhood home, the ghosts of her past begin to haunt her, until the secret she has buried for so long is finally revealed. Powerful and provocative, SOLITARY takes an unflinching look at the price one family pays when they sacrifice the truth for an illusion.
Sasha Krane trained from an early age as a Method actor in New York and developed a passion for theatre and film. The nephew of legendary acting teacher Lee Strasberg, Sasha moved to Los Angeles and began writing and directing stage plays.
The production of his first work, Leftover Hearts, at The Marilyn Monroe Theatre garnered strong reviews and was soon followed by, Astyanax, a short film he wrote and directed. His next short film, A Little Death, won Best Romantic Drama at the 2004 New York International Film Festival.
Sasha directed the independent feature, Machete Joe, which won the 2010 San Diego Black Film Festival award for Best Thriller. His next short film Patriots, that he wrote and directed, screened at the premiere short film festival HollyShorts and the 2012 Columbia Gorge International Film Festival. Patriots received distribution through Shorts International.

It was nominated for eight awards, including a Best Director nomination, and won three: Best Feature, Best Screenplay and Best Actress. It was the opening night film of the 2015 London Independent Film Festival, winning Best UK Feature.
