Synopsis: 9-year-old Ellie Williams pretends to be sick from school so she can sneak out and venture by bus to visit her veteran father’s memorial on his birthday. She takes her Uncle George, an un-housed man, as her chaperone.

Ellie has planned the perfect celebration for her dad, but everything goes wrong from a broken cake, loud noise, uncontrollable weather, to her uncle wanting to leave before singing “happy birthday”. Ellie must give up control and work with unfavorable circumstances in order to celebrate her dad.
